October 2006

Not too much to report at the mo – we're still busy recording with Bryan at Uneven and hope to wrap things up this fall. We're looking to release ten songs in all on a full-length CD (our second – woo hoo!) and most or all basic instrument tracks have been completed. Vocals have been essentially finished for three songs. In fact, you can hear a portion of one of those songs (Naval Gazing) right here http://www.denverpost.com/music as part of an interview Andy did with the Denver Post earlier this month. Enjoy!

We hope to be posting a few shows soon and we'll keep you updated on our various goings-on. ‘til next time, happy autumn!

April 2006

We’ve come out of hibernation, rubbed the sleep from our eyes and are ready to begin recording songs for what we hope will be our next full-length CD! We’re very excited to return to Denver’s own Uneven Studio, where we recorded a few of the songs on Keep It Crisp. Some of the tracks we’ll be working on are “What It Means”, “Naval Gazing”, “I Guess I’m An Amateur”, “Taste Pedlar” and an updated version of “Crayola Sunset” (from our first e.p.). You might be familiar with these songs if you’ve seen us in the past year; otherwise, hopefully you’ll hear ‘em soon! Stay tuned for progress reports…

While we look ahead, let’s take a moment to look back on some of our earlier releases. Stocks are running low or nearly nonexistent on these items, but our good pal Al over at Best Friends Records has a few on-hand. Drop Al a line while you’re there and tell him what a great guy he is and compliment him on his kickass beard.

We’ve updated a few of our web pages and added a new show. We hope to be adding more gigs and things as spring turns into summer; of course, check back periodically for updates. We also hope to get with the program and enter the 21st century by setting up a Breezy Myspace page. Don’t hold your breath because technology frightens and confuses us.

Finally, we’ve got big ‘JEFF’ news to report! He proposed to his longtime sweetheart Rachel and they are getting married in May, followed by a month long honeymoon traipsing about Italy. Amidst reveling in matrimonial bliss, the newlyweds will naturally be required to set up a few gigs in Tuscany…ahem. Congratulations to Jeff and Rachel!

That’s it for now – thanks for dropping by! Write us for free stuff.

July 2005

We're playing a few super-cool shows coming up this summer - check out the 'Shows' page for further details. We hope to see some of you at the gigs! We've also added a 'Press' page for press-related type things (natch). Check back for further updates as the summer goes along and feel free to drop us a line. We'd like to hear from you.

March 2005

Hey friends, it’s been awhile since we’ve updated the ol’ website so we thought we’d better tart it up a bit. Things at Breezy HQ have been a tad quiet lately, although we did get out a few times over the winter. We look forward to playing some shows this spring/summer and hope to play some gigs out of town as well. Stay tuned for further information. And as always, write us for some free stuff or just drop us a line to say hello!

June 2004

We're pleased to announce that we've been invited to play the Athens GAPop Fest this August!
There's a lot of great bands playing and we hope to see you there!

We'd like to thank the following individuals and bands for helping us out on our little tour of the west coast in May: Raoul de la Cruz, Gabe Saucedo and Red Pony Clock, Willoughby and the Placebo, Bob Doran, Martyn and Rebecca, Dave Clifford, Andrew Kaffer, Sauvie Island Moon Rocket Factory, Tony Greenberg, Johnny Meggitt, Andy Menconi, Misun Oh, Ted Thacker, Paul Hamilton and Zeke/Letters of Lament. It was great to see old friends and make new ones, too!

Esprit de Porticorps!

Things around Breezy HQ have been hectic since our new album Keep It Crisp was released. Besides playing a string of celebratory shows we have been busy booking our little west coast mini tour. We're very excited to see the ocean again (Denver=landlocked) and hopefully we'll get to meet some of you! Keep It Crisp has received good reviews thus far, which you can read on the Scrapbook page, and is receiving wide distribution courtesy of Carrot Top and Revolver. It should hopefully be available soon in a cool record store near you - or you may order it directly from Best Friends Records.

Spring is here...Keep It Crisp!
  February 2004

Hello friends,

It's been awhile since we've posted some news.  This is because we've been devoting all of our energies towards finishing up our NEW ALBUM - and we're happy to say that is finished!  It is in the process of being manufactured and it should be in our hands by the end of the month!  As reported earlier in these pages, it will be released by Best Friends Records , which is owned by Alice Gilbert of The Maybellines.  Best Friends is notable for its great releases by such bands as Thank God For Astronauts, Lil' Hospital and The Maybellines, and we're proud to be associated with BFR.  Many thanks to Alice Gilbert!  You can check out their website via our Links page.

And now let's get down to the nitty gritty, shall we?

The name of our album is "KEEP IT CRISP" and the songs contained therein are as follows:
Gee, Your Math Looks Terrific; My Biplane; Paint A Picture; Trick Of The Light; Intrigue On The Settee; Breezy Porticos; Blues In Morris Minor; Six Flags Over Nowhere; Starry-Eyed; Cloudninin'; Throwing Bees.  Eleven crisp songs in all for your listening pleasure.  KEEP IT CRISP will be available on CD and *super limited* vinyl, so stay tuned for pending information on how to procure your very own copy!

Happy Holidays to all in the Porticorps!

  July 2003

Howdy folks,

After several months of "silent running", the Breezies have emerged on the other side of a long hiatus. And yes, we're glad to report that everything's fine! Nor have we been entirely dormant during the past few months. In fact, we've been rather busy recording the remainder of the songs that will appear on our debut full-length CD! As reported waaaay baaack in February, the CD will on Best Friends Records, the hot new label operated by Al from the Maybellines. A partial list of the songs that will appear includes Six Flags Over Nowhere, Starry-eyed, Intrigue on the Settee, Trick of the Light; My Biplane and Taste Pedlar. We're hoping for an October '03 release so stay tuned to this website for further information as it becomes available. Speaking of this website, plans are underway to update the whole darn thing; for now, though, there's an old interview (done by Kevin of the Lil' Hospital!) of Andy that has been added to the Scrapbook page, and the Shows page has been updated as well. Check in periodically to see new, fascinating updates in progress!

'til then, thanks for dropping by and for your interest in Breezy Porticos! Drop us a line and tell us who you are. We'd love to send you some Breezy gear!
